About Lake forest estates

Lake Forest Estates is a forest, mountain, and lake community. We have our own spring fed lake, great for fishing, canoeing, swimming or just a breath of fresh air. We have over 180 acres of forever wild forest land adjacent to the Appalachian Trail on the Blue Ridge. Our common areas include a picnic pavilion, basketball court, lake, pond, and miles of trails. We have a Home Owner's Association managed by a board of directors consisting of members of the community.

If long views of the Shenandoah Valley is your preference, we have that too. If you want more information, write us a note: lfehoa@gmail.com.

We are located on the west side of the Blue Ridge near Harpers Ferry and Charles Town, WV. See directions for exact information on how to visit us.

The Lake Forest Estate Property Owners Association (POA) is chartered by the Covenants and Restrictions of Lake Forest Estates, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425 established in 2014. We have at times, throughout the website referred to the POA as the Home Owners Association, (HOA).

Purpose of the Lake Forest POA:

    • The goal of a property owners association is the preservation of property values. It does this by enforcing its governing covenants. It works to ensure all properties are attractive and consistent with each other. Without covenant enforcement, one property left unkempt, can lower the property value of the entire neighborhood.

    • All board member positions are filled by community volunteers and are not compensated for their time or services provided. They are property owners (just like you!) who work together in the interest of the community.

    • Administers & enforces architectural guidelines & restrictions through its Architecture Committee for Section 2 and a board review for Section 1.

    • Is responsible for landscaping and maintenance of the common areas in the community.

    • Organizes community events for members of the association.

What the POA doesn’t do:

    • Does not resolve domestic disputes or disagreements between neighbors.

    • Is not a substitute for Police or other Law Enforcement.

    • Does not offer security services.

    • Does not provide city or county services.
